Treat myself to a full body massage [New Mexico]

My dad and I were paging through my book 1000 Places To See Before You Die trying to get ideas of places we could send my mom on a surprise 50th birthday getaway.  We stumbled upon this:

“Take the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese hot-springs…move it outdoors, add the panorama of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the perfume of piñon pines and juniper bushes..and you get…a one-of-a-kind wellness retreat.”

Case closed.  Settled.  We had our destination—Ten Thousand Waves Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Stoked!  Fast forward a couple of months…

We arrived at Ten Thousand Waves

Checked in and wandered around inside

Notice how the sign says “Tokyo 10,070 km”…from the inside of the spa, you need a little reminder 🙂

And spent a little time in an outdoor hot tub

And now to the whole point of this post…the MASSAGE!  I chose the one called “Nose to Toes”, which basically was for people who couldn’t decide what they wanted.  It had a little bit of everything…head/neck/shoulder massage, peppermint scrub foot rub, Thai stretches, and full body exfoliation.  It was 90 minutes of pure bliss and something that my bank account is glad is only on my bucket list once 🙂
